EAGLE Completes Virtualizing Storage and Servers on a Shoestring Seminars
EAGLE recently completed a series of luncheon seminars that demonstrated how to virtualize both production and DR environments on a shoestring. The seminars, which were co-hosted with Dell
Equallogic, VMware and Panologic, featured a live environment. Demonstrations included: moving servers, crashing the production environment and bringing up the DR environment. The premise of the demonstration was to build a cost effective environment featuring VMware's free version, ESXi, along with less costly storage and servers, to illustrate how a working virtualized SAN can be implemented on a tight budget.
"We built this demo environment with the objective of showcasing a stable, feature rich virtualized SAN solution that a smaller enterprise, department or DR site could implement on a budget," explained Jay Sutherland, EAGLE Sales Engineer. "I think most of our attendees were surprised to see how robust this cost effective solution was, and how easy it is to upgrade to a more feature rich enterprise class solution."
At each event, Panologic sponsored a drawing for a Panologic zero client desktop. Congratulations to Kevin Ellis, Michael Nixon, Tommy Reed, Brad Seeman, Michael Bierman, Dennis Rigdon, Andrew Lambe, Caleb Finley and Will Wainwright. In addition, congratulations to Kevin Simon, winner of the Dell mini 10v laptop drawing, sponsored by Dell Equallogic.
